Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department on a full-time nights weekends program. You will provide patient-centered care in a fast-paced ED, with a supportive team and emphasis on collaboration and evidence-based practice.

Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care for acutely ill patients, coordinating with physicians and staff, and documenting care in the health record.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
• Current State of Illinois RN license required.
• Basic Life Support required.
• ACLS required; PALS/ENPC & TNCC within one year of hire preferred.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred for pediatric ER.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for acutely ill patients.
• Collaborate with physicians and health team members, maintaining ANA standards.
• Coordinate care delivery and document progress in health record.
• Direct care and manage use of assistants involved in direct patient care.
• Participate in governance, committees and unit projects.
