Job summary

Bayhealth Medical Center in Delaware is seeking a Patient Care RN for the Emergency Department. This full-time role offers a daytime shift at the Kent Campus with a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.

The RN will provide professional care, develop patient-centered plans, administer medications, and coordinate with physicians to determine optimal treatment. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma.
• Credential: Registered Nurse; Basic Life Support; ACLS/PALS may be required.
• Experience: Required; Preferred: Experience in relevant specialty.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, professional nursing care to patients in the acute care setting.
• Develops a patient-centered plan of care based on individualized needs.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient records and document care accurately.
• Counsel and educate patients and their care partners on treatment plans.
• Administer medications following the five rights of medication administration.
• Provide wound care and dressing changes as applicable.
• Read and interpret patient information to aid treatment decisions.
• Consult with physicians to decide on best treatment decisions when appropriate.
• Perform nursing interventions to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Observe and record patient responses to interventions.
• Demonstrate standards of excellence with compassion, accountability, respect, teamwork and integrity.
• Participate in quality and performance improvement plans.
• Provide timely and accurate documentation of patient care.
• Perform other duties within the scope of responsibilities.

Education
