Job summary

Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, TX is seeking an Emergency Department Registered Nurse. You will coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with physicians and the care team, following established nursing models to promote outcomes and patient experience.

Key duties include assessing pain, performing procedures and documenting care, responding to patient requests, and teaching patients and families about conditions and follow-up.

Qualifications

• ACLS within 90 days of start date.
• BLS within 30 days of start date.
• NCI within 6 months of start date.
• TNCC within 1 year of start date.
• RN with 6 months minimum experience.
• PALS or ENPC within 90 days of start date.
• RN degree (ADN/BSN or RN Diploma).
• Compact RN license endorsed to Texas within 60 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management.
• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s) and documents care.
• Responds promptly to patient requests and educates patients/families about conditions and treatment.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about their condition, plan, medications and follow-up.
• Prepares patients and families for future self-management and healthy lifestyle changes.
