Qualifications

• The RN coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with department standards and state scope of practice.
• Collaborates with medical providers and the care team to support outcomes.
• Assesses patient pain and manages treatment plans.
• Educates patients and families about condition, plan, medications and follow-up.
• Translates complex medical terminology for patient understanding.

Responsibilities

• Assess pain regularly to promote effective pain management.
• Documents care in the patient medical record promptly and accurately.
• Responds promptly to patient requests and anticipates needs.
• Teaches patients and families about condition, status, treatment plan and follow-up measures.
• Supports patient self-management through lifestyle guidance when appropriate.
