Job summary

Methodist Hospital Specialty and Transplant in San Antonio, TX is seeking an Emergency Department RN PRN to provide patient-centered care in a fast-paced ED setting. You will collaborate with physicians and the care team, assess pain, perform procedures, document care promptly, and educate patients and families about conditions, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up steps.

Qualifications

• ACLS within 90 days of start date
• BLS within 30 days of start date
• TNCC within 1 year of start date
• RN license with minimum 6 months experience
• PALS or ENPC within 90 days of start date
• RN degree (ADN/BSN) or RN Diploma
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention within 6 months

Responsibilities

• Assesses pain regularly and supports effective pain management
• Documents care in the patient medical record in a timely manner
• Responds promptly to patient requests and anticipates needs
• Teaches patients and families about conditions, plans, medications, and follow-up
• Prepares patients and families for self-management and follow-up care
