Job summary

Qualifications

• One year recent RN experience in the Emergency Department.
• Graduate of an accredited RN program with BRN requirements.
• Licensed Registered Nurse in California.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire.
• Knowledge of RN scope of practice and patient confidentiality.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs ongoing assessments focusing on physiologic, psychosocial, cultural and cognitive status.
• Formulates goal-directed plans of care with the health care team.
• Implements care thoroughly and consistently.
• Establishes priorities based on patient needs and resources.
• Identifies patient/family learning needs and educates accordingly.
• Maintains effective relationships with health care team, patients, and families.
• Delegates appropriately and coordinates duties of the health care team.
• Documents care and uses EMR systems accurately.
• Participates in staff development and performance improvement activities.
• Follows safety practices and regulatory requirements.
