Job summary

Fort Smith ER in Fort Smith, AR is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for full-time, day or rotating shifts. You will perform rapid assessments, triage, and provide age-spanning emergency care.

The role requires two years ER experience, RN licensure, CPR/ACLS/PALS or ENPC and TNCC preferred. You will supervise ERTs, collaborate with physicians, and uphold infection control and patient safety.

Strong communication, teamwork, and ability to make quick decisions are essential.

Qualifications

• Two years of emergency room experience.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Licensure with the State Board of Nurse Examiners for their state.
• Current BCLS/CPR, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, and TNCC preferred.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients with head-to-toe assessments and triage to determine severity.
• Provide emergency care to patients of all ages following protocols.
• Administer medications accurately following the five rights of medication administration.
• Oversee the work of support staff (ERTs) and ensure efficient workflow.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare staff to develop and implement care plans.
• Maintain infection control and patient safety in a busy ED setting.
• Participate in ongoing education, staff meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Explain procedures and treatment plans to patients and families.
