Job summary

Openwork Health in California's Chico area is seeking an Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN, ER) to provide urgent and lifesaving care in a high-acuity ED. You will work with a multidisciplinary team, triage, administer medications, and coordinate care while supporting professional growth.

The ideal candidate holds an active RN license, ER experience, and current BLS/ACLS; PALS may be required depending on the facility.

Qualifications

• Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Experience working in an emergency room or similar acute care setting.
• Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) may be required.
• Strong clinical assessment, prioritization, and time management skills.
• Ability to remain composed in high-pressure situations and deliver compassionate care.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities for effective collaboration with patients and teams.

Responsibilities

• Conduct rapid patient assessments and triage based on severity of illness or injury.
• Administer medications, initiate IVs, and monitor vital signs per clinical protocols.
• Assist with emergency procedures and interventions, including CPR and ALS.
• Document patient care activities accurately in electronic health records.
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and nursing staff to coordinate care.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control guidelines.
• Respond swiftly and calmly to medical emergencies and changing patient conditions.
