Job summary

MaineGeneral Health is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN to join our team in Waterville and Augusta. This 30-hour-per-week position rotates weekends and holidays and involves two 12-hour shifts one week and three 12-hour shifts the next.

You will be cross‑trained to work in both EDs at Thayer Center for Health in Waterville and Alfond Center for Health in Augusta. You’ll provide direct patient care, triage, collaborate with the team, and educate patients and families.

Qualifications

• Active Maine RN licensure or ability to obtain promptly.
• At least 2 years of RN experience; ER experience preferred.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, MOAB and TNCC certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department per nursing process.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate care to optimize outcomes and resources.
• Monitor patient condition, document and communicate findings.
• Triage and prioritize care based on acuity and resources.
• Collaborate across disciplines, coordinate transfers and referrals.
• Educate patients and families, delegate to staff as needed.
