Qualifications

• Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
• PA Certification.
• Registration & Licensure by the NJ State Board required.
• BLS and ACLS Certifications.
• New Jersey CDS and DEA Licensure.
• Professional organization membership preferred.
• Ability to accommodate scheduling incl. extended hours, weekdays, overnights, weekends, holidays.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and record patient history.
• Perform physical and medical screening exams.
• Complete diagnostic and therapeutic studies.
• Order labs, radiology and other studies as appropriate.
• Establish diagnostic decisions and initiate treatment plans.
• Coordinate patient care with health care team.
• Initiate consultations with other professionals.
• Counsel patients on health and refer to specialists as needed.
• Complete charting in a thorough and timely manner.
• Manage patient flow in ED or inpatient unit.
• Perform procedures as allowed by state law and supervision.
• Adhere to legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.
• Participate in departmental meetings and risk management education.
