Job summary

Southern Tennessee Regional Health System-Pulaski seeks a Patient Sitter (ER) PRN to support nursing staff in a fast-paced ER setting. You will assist with basic patient care, monitor vital signs, and help with activities of daily living, under RN supervision.

Qualifications include high school diploma or equivalent, BLS certification, and preferred Handle with Care certification. This role emphasizes patient safety, observation, and collaboration within the health system team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Handle with Care certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Monitors and records vital signs, intake and output, and reports changes in patient condition to nursing staff.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, toileting, eating, and ambulation.
• Observes and promptly reports abnormal physical, mental, or emotional findings.
• Maintains patient rooms and common areas to ensure a clean, safe, and organized care environment.
• Supports nursing and physician staff with patient care activities and unit workflow.
• Participates in required education, competency validation, and performance improvement activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
