Job summary

Lifepoint Health’s Southern TN Regional Health System-Pulaski seeks a Patient Sitter (ER) PRN to support the ER team with patient safety and comfort. The role involves one-on-one observation, basic patient care, and collaboration with nursing staff in a fast-paced environment.

As part of Lifepoint Health, you will contribute to delivering compassionate care while adhering to unit workflows and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Handle with Care certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Monitors and records vital signs, intake and output, and reports changes in patient condition to nursing staff.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, toileting, eating, and ambulation.
• Observes and promptly reports abnormal physical, mental, or emotional findings.
• Maintains patient rooms and common areas to ensure a clean, safe, and organized care environment.
• Supports nursing and physician staff with patient care activities and unit workflow.
• Participates in required education, competency validation, and performance improvement activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Our Emergency Room is often the first point of care for patients experiencing illnesses, injuries, and medical emergencies. At Southern Tennessee Regional Health System-Pulaski, the ER is a fast-paced, team-oriented environment where providers, nurses, technicians, and support staff work together to deliver timely, compassionate care when patients need it most.

As a Patient Sitter, you play an important role in ensuring patient safety, comfort, and support during their stay. You'll work closely with the healthcare team, provide one-on-one observation when needed, and help create a positive experience for patients and their families.
