Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus in Topeka, KS is seeking a PRN Emergency Department Patient Care Tech. You will collaborate with licensed nurses to support safe, compassionate patient care in a fast-paced ED.

Responsibilities include recording data, monitoring patients, assisting with ADLs, collecting lab specimens, and performing delegated tasks under supervision. Candidates should have a HS diploma and CNA/PCT certification, with BLS.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required and active CNA/PCT cert.
• EMT Basic or paramedic can substitute for CNA/PCT in ER.
• Active Kansas certification and BLS within 14 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with licensed nurses to deliver safe, compassionate patient care.
• Performs delegated tasks and advanced skills under supervision.
• Records data, reports observations, and assists with clinical and non-clinical duties.
• Obtains vital signs, aids with ADLs, collects lab specimens, and supports monitoring.
• Completes unit-based competencies and validations as assigned.
