Job summary

Banner Health is seeking an Associate Manager of Patient Access Services for the Banner Estrella ED in Phoenix. The role leads Emergency Department patient access operations, oversees scheduling, and drives service quality while coaching staff to achieve performance targets.

The position emphasizes team leadership, performance optimization, and maintaining exceptional customer service in a high-volume setting. Occasional support for Verrado ER locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Requires Associate’s degree in Business Management or equivalent education/experience.
• Three to five years in office management and/or supervision in healthcare insurance and billing.
• Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Directs, trains and assures work quality of Patient Access Services staff in a fast-paced ED environment.
• Mentors staff, conducts performance evaluations and develops staff for succession planning.
• Ensures compliance, audits to minimize denials and improve registration accuracy.
• Oversees scheduling, staffing coverage, and workload balancing to meet department goals.
• Leads onboarding, training, and ongoing staff development; monitors performance metrics.
