Job summary

Townsen Memorial Hospital-Humble is seeking a Patient Access Representative - ER to join our team. This role serves as a liaison between patients and payers to collect and generate accounts for services provided.

The position emphasizes accurate data entry, insurance verification, referrals/authorizations, and maintaining HIPAA privacy while delivering exceptional customer service at the ER registration desk.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• One year of experience as an admission representative is preferred.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance benefits and confirm correct payor/plan in the patient accounting system.
• Obtain insurance referrals/authorizations and document numbers in the system.
• Enter patient demographics accurately to support billing and revenue cycle.
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant patient privacy and professional conduct throughout the process.
• Assist patients at arrival, complete forms, and provide information to facilitate registration.
