Job summary

Medical City McKinney is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. This full-time night shift with rotating weekends delivers patient-centered care in collaboration with physicians and the care team, following established nursing models to Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.

It supports a Level III Trauma Center and stroke programs, with sepsis detection and enhanced recovery pathways. You will assess pain, document care, anticipate patient needs, and educate patients and families

Qualifications

• ACLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• BLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• TNCC Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
• RN (Registered Nurse) required
• Associate Degree required
• Bachelor's Degree must be obtained within 2 years of employment start date

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient pain regularly and promotes effective pain management.
• Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s).
• Responds promptly to patient requests and anticipates patient needs and resolves them proactively.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about patient medical condition, treatment plan, medications, and follow-up measures.
