Job summary

LCMC Health in Louisiana seeks an experienced ER nurse to provide high-quality, compassionate care in a fast-paced emergency department. You will prioritize care touchpoints, maintain safety, monitor patient condition changes, and educate patients and families as part of a cohesive care team.

Preferred candidates hold active state licensure and current BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC (or substitute ENPC for PALS at select sites). Nights are available in this hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Current Louisiana nursing license to practice as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Current ACLS, CPI and PALS certifications (New grad must obtain within 6 months of hire).
• Current TNCC (CHNOLA and UMC ERs only).
• ENPC can substitute for PALS at UMC or EJMC ERs.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize, coordinate and delegate all care touchpoints for your patients.
• Maintain and advocate a safe environment for everyone.
• Monitor and engage with patients, families, and care team members concerning significant events or patient condition changes.
• Prevent and treat wounds.
• Monitor and execute Joint Commission infection control and environment of care requirements.
• Ensure continuity of care, efficient throughput, and exceptional experience for every patient.
• Advise and consult with supervisor when unable to complete assignments promptly, effectively, or safely.
• Initiate patient and family education using appropriate resources and care services. Address patient questions and concerns.
• Contribute to the team by assisting others without being asked.
