Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse for the ICU on a full-time nights/weekend program. The role requires a BSN, current IL RN license, and BLS, with duties including assessment, planning, and coordination of care for acutely ill patients.

Responsibilities include collaborating with the health care team, documenting progress, and utilizing evidence-based practices to guide patient care in a fast-paced ICU setting. Emergency and pediatric ER competencies are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have BSN and an active Illinois RN license.
• BLS certification required.
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to acutely ill patients using the nursing process (assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation).
• Interact effectively with patients, families, and health team members while upholding ANA standards.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans and document progress in the health record.
• Coordinate care with assistants and other staff to ensure safe, quality care.
• Collaborate with physicians and ancillary staff; communicate decisions and outcomes clearly.
• Participate in governance, committees, and unit projects as needed.
• Document patient responses to interventions and adjust plans accordingly.
• Use evidence-based practice to guide clinical decisions.
