Job summary

Mercy Medical Center is seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse ready to advance into a leadership role as Assistant Nurse Manager. This salaried position partners with the Nurse Manager to drive clinical operations, mentor staff, and enhance patient outcomes in a fast-paced ED.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of ED nursing experience, a BSN, and MA RN license, with strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

BSN required and current Massachusetts RN license.
Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience.
Experience caring for high-acuity emergency patients.
Strong communication, leadership, and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

Support the Nurse Manager in leading daily Emergency Department operations.
Provide leadership, mentoring, and coaching to charge nurses and clinical staff.
Coordinate staffing, scheduling, patient throughput, and resource management.
Promote a culture of quality, safety, accountability, and professional development.
Participate in hiring, onboarding, performance management, and staff engagement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with hospital, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
Drive clinical excellence through evidence-based practice and continuous improvement.
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
Serve as the primary nursing leadership presence during overnight operations.
