Mercy Medical Center in Western Massachusetts is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN stepping into a leadership role. As an Assistant Nurse Manager (Senior Clinical Advisor), you will partner with the Nurse Manager to guide daily ED operations and support frontline nurses toward exceptional patient outcomes.

This role targets experienced ER nurses or emerging nurse managers seeking growth within a leading regional health system.

Qualifications

• BSN required.
• Massachusetts RN license.
• 2+ years Emergency Department nursing experience.
• Experience with high-acuity ED patients.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Preferred: trauma center or high-volume ED; previous nurse leadership roles; BLS/CPR, ACLS, TNCC; specialty certifications encouraged.

Mercy Medical Center is seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse ready to take the next step into nursing leadership. As an Assistant Nurse Manager (Senior Clinical Advisor), you will partner with the Nurse Manager to lead clinical operations, support frontline nursing staff, and drive exceptional patient outcomes in our fast-paced Emergency Department.

What You'll Do

• Support the Nurse Manager in leading daily Emergency Department operations.
• Provide leadership, mentoring, and coaching to charge nurses and clinical staff.
• Coordinate staffing, scheduling, patient throughput, and resource management.
• Promote a culture of quality, safety, accountability, and professional development.
• Participate in hiring, onboarding, performance management, and staff engagement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with hospital, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
• Drive clinical excellence through evidence-based practice and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Serve as the primary nursing leadership presence during overnight operations.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience
• Experience caring for high-acuity emergency patients
• Strong communication, leadership, and critical thinking skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a Trauma Center or high-volume Emergency Department
• Previous leadership experience as a Charge Nurse, Team Lead, Preceptor, or Supervisor
• BLS/CPR certification
• ACLS certification
• TNCC certification
• Specialty certifications encouraged and supported

Compensation

$91,624 - $146,640

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
