Job summary

Los Angeles Community Hospitals in Norwalk, CA is seeking an Emergency Department Registered Nurse to provide rapid assessment, monitoring, and life-saving care for acutely ill or injured patients. You will collaborate with physicians and the care team to implement plans and ensure patient safety and comfort.

This role requires CA RN licensure, graduate of accredited nursing program, BLS, ACLS, and ability to work variable shifts.

Qualifications

• Active, current, and unencumbered Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to maintain flexibility in a changing environment.
• AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
• 1 year of emergency nursing experience or ED training.
• De-escalation certification; SAMA certification on recertification.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care, medications including IV titrations, arterial lines, cardiac monitoring, ventilator management, and procedures.
• Develops and implements plan of care, documents interventions, and evaluates patient response.
• Collaborates with physicians and the care team to ensure coordinated care and discharge planning.
• Communicates with patients and families with empathy and culturally appropriate care.
