Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver evidence-based patient care at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. The role emphasizes safe medication administration, collaborative care, and comprehensive patient education.

The ideal candidate has a NJ RN license, BLS/CPR within 60 days, and may pursue ACLS/PALS; 6 months minimum nursing experience or participation in our Nurse Residency program, with 2 years of ER experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Current and valid New Jersey Registered Nurse license is required.
• BLS/CPR certification within 60 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS preferred.
• Minimum of 6 months nursing experience or active participation in Nurse Residency program.
• 2 years Emergency nursing experience preferred.
• BSN in progress or willingness to acquire within three years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of nursing practices according to evidence-based research, policies and standards of care for safe, excellent patient care.
• Ongoing communication with patients, nursing colleagues and health care team regarding patient status and plan of care.
• Medication administration using bar-scanning and documentation technologies for safe delivery.
• Point-of-Care electronic documentation of assessments, plan-of-care, interventions and evaluation.
• Patient and family education aimed at optimizing health, wellness and disease management.
• Multi-disciplinary discharging of patients to ensure safe transition and continuum of care.

Education

New Jersey Registered Nurse license

BLS/CPR (American Heart Association)

ACLS and PALS preferred

6 months nursing experience or Hackensack Meridian Health Nurse Residency

2 years Emergency nursing experience preferred

BSN in progress or willingness to pursue within 3 years
