Job summary

City of Hope in Illinois seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department to deliver direct, compassionate care in a fast-paced setting. You will triage, assess, administer medications, monitor vitals, and respond to emergencies in alignment with department protocols.

Requirements include an Illinois RN license, 1 year ER/critical care experience, and BLS/ACLS/PALS with NIHSS within 6 months. The role involves 3 12-hour shifts from 7a to 7p and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• 1 year emergency or critical care experience.
• State licensure as Registered Nurse in Illinois.
• BLS certification at hire and maintained.
• ACLS certification at hire and maintained.
• PALS certification at hire or within 6 months and maintained.
• NIHSS certification within 6 months and maintained.
• Oncology Certification through ONCC when eligible or oncology CE yearly.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, compassionate care in a fast-paced ER setting, including triage and prioritization of care needs.
• Perform clinical assessments, administer medications, monitor vital signs, and provide treatment per protocols.
• Manage complex patient situations with critical thinking and problem-solving.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and assist in life-saving procedures (e.g., CPR).
• Read and interpret cardiac monitor rhythms and intervene as needed.
• Attend In-House Code Blue and Rapid Response calls when required.
