Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Emergency Room at Marlborough Campus. You will provide direct patient care utilizing the nursing process, assess and plan care from admission to discharge, and collaborate with physicians and staff to ensure quality outcomes.

The role requires MA RN licensure, BLS, and unit-specific competencies; ACLS/PALS may be required for certain addenda.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of nursing practice and patient care.
• Ability to perform accurate patient assessments and develop plans of care.
• Effective collaboration with health care teams to ensure quality care.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the Nursing Process for delivery and management of patient care from admission to discharge.
• Perform patient assessments and reassessments per standard procedures.
• Develop and coordinate individual care plans including discharge planning.
• Direct, supervise, coordinate and evaluate nursing care in the assigned setting.
• Delegate tasks appropriately based on competency and scope of practice.
• Document patient care according to procedures.
• Educate patients and families as part of the care plan.
• Ensure quality and continuity of care through collaboration with providers.
• Administer medications and support treatments and therapies as required.
