Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital-Suffolk is seeking a Nurse Aide II to join the Emergency Department on a part-time, dayshift basis from 7am to 7pm with alternate weekends. Under RN direction, you will assist staff in patient care, maintain clean patient areas, prepare equipment, and help orient new employees.

You will observe patients, report changes promptly, assist with activities of daily living, and provide direct nursing care while ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout shifts.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; BLS (AHA) and first aid required.
• De-escalation training on the job; EMT cert or nursing student status helps.
• Excellent customer service and telephone skills; ability to multitask.

Responsibilities

• Observe patients, relay changes to nursing staff promptly.
• Assist with activities of daily living and nourishment; ensure comfort.
• Provide direct nursing care: vital signs, baths, Foley care as directed.
• Support patient safety: safe transfers, restraints, call bells responses.
