Job summary

MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center is seeking a registered nurse for a full-time, 12-hour night shift. The role delivers patient care with a multidisciplinary team, using the nursing process and professional standards to achieve outcomes.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Iowa required.
• Associate Degree in Nursing or graduation from an accredited RN program required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assesses and evaluates patient needs and documents responses with the multidisciplinary team.
• Develops and implements plan of care, including discharge planning, based on standards and patient needs.
• Guides and directs patient care activities using clinical/critical thinking and evidence-based practice.
• Provides direction to LPNs and Nurse Assistants.
• Facilitates learning to meet educational needs of patient/family.
• Communicates patient changes to colleagues and caregivers.
• Attends department meetings and participates in educational opportunities.
• Supports staffing needs and manages resources while maintaining productivity.
