Job summary

MercyOne in Newton, IA is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Room Team. You will provide professional nursing care to patients across age groups, applying the nursing process and using medical equipment in a fast-paced setting.

The position is full-time, 36 hours per week, on the night shift (7 PM–7 AM). Completion of an accredited nursing program and an Iowa RN license are required; ACLS/PALS preferred. MercyOne offers competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Iowa RN license.
• Ability to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions in English.
• BCLS certification required.
• ACLS/PALS certifications recommended.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients using the nursing process and plan care.
• Provide age-appropriate care across neonates to geriatrics.
• Educate patients and families about medications and care plans.
• Collaborate with providers and multidisciplinary team.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and safety.
• Lead and supervise nursing activities when needed.
• Participate in department education and process improvement.
