Job summary

MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, IA is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a part-time, 12-hour night shift. The role involves delivering high-quality patient care as part of a multidisciplinary team, with weekend/holiday rotation and 24 hours per week.

Minimum qualifications include Iowa RN licensure, an ADN (BSN preferred), and BLS. Experience in acute care is preferred, with ongoing education and mandatory safety training.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in the state of Iowa or qualified multi-state license.
• Associate Degree in Nursing; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• Previous experience in acute care preferred.
• Must provide proof of BLS certification prior to employment or within 60 days of hire.
• Mandatory reporting: Child and Dependent Adult Abuse within 6 months of hire.
• Cardiac Dysrhythmias class or equivalent within 3 months of hire and annual skill validation.

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate the patient’s physical, psychosocial, environmental, spiritual, social and education needs with documentation.
• Develop and implement patient care plans including discharge planning.
• Guide and direct patient care activities for the population using evidence-based practice.
• Provide daily direction to LPNs and Nursing Assistants.
• Provide learning opportunities to meet educational needs of patient/family.
