Job summary

Northwest Health - Porter is seeking an Registered Nurse (RN) for full-time night shifts in the Emergency Department. The role provides patient-centered care through the nursing process, coordinating with physicians and the care team to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Responsibilities include assessments, medication administration, procedures support, and care plan implementation. Strong teamwork, documentation, and adherence to safety protocols are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of clinical nursing experience or student rotations in an acute care setting required.
• RN licensure in state or compact state required.
• BCLS certification required; ACLS/PALS/NRP preferred.
• Ability to perform thorough patient assessments and administer medications safely.
• Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration with care teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver patient-centered nursing care per policy and nursing process.
• Assess patients, document findings, and report changes to care team.
• Administer prescribed meds and monitor for adverse effects.
• Assist physicians during procedures within competency.
• Develop and implement care plans with the team.
• Respond to emergencies with CPR and code team participation.
• Educate patients and families on conditions and discharge care.
• Maintain infection control and safety standards.
• Document care promptly in the medical record.
• Participate in audits and quality improvement initiatives.
