Job summary

Puget Sound Veterinary Specialty & Emergency is a fast-paced emergency and critical care hospital in Gig Harbor, WA. We seek experienced Veterinary Assistants and LVTs to join our ECC team across all shifts, delivering high-quality patient care and client support in a supportive environment.

The role emphasizes collaboration with DVMs, phased schedules (Day, Mid, Overnight) and a 5k sign-on bonus for Overnight LVTs or VTS. Competitive hourly wages and shift differentials are offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years ER experience.
• LVT license in WA or transfer of licensure.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress ER environment.
• Competence in CPR/BLS.
• Strong phlebotomy and venipuncture skills.

Responsibilities

• Triage and obtain patient history from owners.
• Perform diagnostic tests and outpatient procedures.
• Administer medications and treatments as directed by DVM.
• Oversee and treat multiple ER patients with gold-standard nursing care.
• Educate and support pet owners.
• Maintain accurate medical records.
