Job summary

Lakefield Veterinary Group's Puget Sound Veterinary Specialty & Emergency in Gig Harbor, WA, seeks an experienced LVT or veterinary assistant for Emergency/Critical Care. The role involves triage, diagnostics, treatments, patient monitoring, client education, and maintaining medical records in a fast-paced specialty setting.

Candidates should have ER experience, WA license or transfer, strong communication, CPR/BLS, and be able to handle high-stress situations with composure.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of ER experience or equivalent.
• Active Washington veterinary license or imminent transfer.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.

Responsibilities

• Triage and obtain patient history from owners.
• Perform diagnostic tests and out-patient procedures.
• Administer medications and treatments as directed by DVM.
• Provide oversight and treatment for multiple ER patients with gold-standard nursing.
• Maintain accurate medical records and discharge patients with owner education.
• Fill prescriptions and review with owners.
• Maintain hospital cleanliness.
