Job summary

UNM Hospitals in New Mexico is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for the Emergency Room - Lomas. This full-time, 0.90 FTE position rotates shifts and delivers direct nursing care under RN supervision, across neonatal to geriatric patients.

You will implement care plans, assist with procedures, and maintain accurate medical records while upholding safety standards and policies. A sign-on bonus is available for eligible applicants.

Qualifications

• Program Graduate
• LPN Accredited Program Graduate
• Complete Organization IV Education & Training Program
• No minimum experience required
• 1 year directly related experience

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe direct care to an assigned group of patients as required
• Work within Hospitals, Nursing division and departmental policies
• Implement and document individualized care plans incorporating age specific considerations
• Assist with special tests and procedures, ensure proper consent has been obtained
• Assist with or institute emergency measures for sudden, adverse developments in patients
• Participate in orientation and evaluation of new personnel
• Maintain patient medical records with necessary information
• Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients/families
• Enhance professional growth through education and training
• Follow patient safety-related policies and report safety concerns
• Identify and report environmental conditions that may pose risk
• Encourage patients to participate in their own care
