Job summary

UNM Hospital in Albuquerque is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide direct patient care in the Emergency Room - Lomas. You will work within the nursing process, collaborate with the healthcare team, and ensure adherence to hospital policies while caring for diverse age groups.

Responsibilities include implementing care plans, assisting with tests and procedures, documenting care, and promoting patient safety. A strong focus on discharge teaching and family education is expected.

Qualifications

• LPN accredited program graduate required.
• Completion of IV education & training program per organization.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe direct care to assigned patients under RN supervision.
• Work within hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
• Assist with discharge planning and patient/family teaching as needed.
• Assist with tests and procedures and ensure proper consent is obtained.
• Provide oxygen therapy, IV setup, catheterization and monitor patient status as assigned.
