Job summary

Presbyterian Kaseman Hospital in Albuquerque, NM is actively seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for our Emergency Department. The role involves direct patient care in a high-acuity ED/urgent care setting under RN and physician supervision, with a focus on safety, rapid assessment, and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Nursing Diploma.
  • Licensed Practical Nurse-NM or out of state compact LPN license.
  • BLS required at time of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care, including taking vital signs, administering medications, and performing basic medical procedures in an emergency department (ED)/urgent care environment as permitted by state regulations.
  • Assist in the triage process by gathering patient information and documenting symptoms and medical histories.
  • Monitor and report changes in patient condition to RNs and physicians.
  • Assist with wound care, IV therapy, splinting, and other procedures as directed.
  • Support patients and families by providing education and emotional reassurance during critical situations.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Uphold infection control practices and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Participate in emergency response situations and contribute to team efforts during critical events.
  • Restock supplies and ensure the facility is prepared for patient care.
