Job summary

UNM HOSPITALS in New Mexico is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide direct patient care across neonatal to geriatric ages within the Neuroscience department. This full-time position is 0.90 FTE with Day shifts, located on site at the hospital.

The role requires an LPN accredited program graduate with training in IV education. Certification in CPR/BLS and NM LPN licensure is required, with a focus on patient safety and collaboration with the healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe direct care to an assigned group of patients as required
• Work within Hospitals, Nursing division and departmental policies
• Assist with care plans and discharge planning with age-specific considerations
• Assist with tests and procedures, ensuring proper consent
• Assist with emergency measures for sudden patient changes
• Participate in orientation and evaluation of new personnel
• Maintain patient medical records with necessary information
• Maintain a safe, comfortable, therapeutic environment
• Provide oxygen therapy, IV setup, catheterization, and monitor patients as assigned
• Administer medications and monitor results per the Seven Rights
