Job summary

Intermountain Health Lutheran Hospital in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Emergency Department Float Pool. The role involves floating to ED and other acute care areas, providing rapid assessments, collaborating with trauma teams, and delivering evidence-based care in a high-acuity environment.

You will work 36 hours per week with a competitive hourly wage, and a 10% float differential is offered.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 1 year RN experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• BSN is required; degree will be verified.
• RNs with less than 12 months’ experience must obtain BSN within 4 years.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing care in fast-paced emergency settings.
• Perform rapid patient assessments and initiate interventions.
• Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition quickly.
• Collaborate with physicians and teams to provide care.
• Administer medications and procedures per policy.
• Document assessments, interventions and outcomes accurately.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and discharge instructions.
• Adapt to varying workflows and acuity levels while maintaining safety.
