Job summary

Intermountain Health's Lutheran Hospital in Wheat Ridge, CO is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department Float Pool. You will float to ED and other acute care areas, delivering safe, evidence-based nursing care in fast-paced environments.

The role emphasizes rapid assessments, timely interventions, collaboration with physicians and teams, and patient education. Requires BSN, RN licensure, BLS, and 1 year of RN experience; compensation includes a $37.45–$57.29 hourly

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of practice (compact licenses must be transferred within 60 days).
• BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience.
• BSN is required; degree will be verified.
• RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain BSN within four years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing care in fast-paced emergency care environments.
• Perform rapid patient assessments, prioritize care, and initiate appropriate interventions.
• Recognize and respond quickly to changes in patient condition.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, technicians, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Provide care to patients with a wide range of illnesses, injuries, and emergency conditions.
• Administer medications, treatments, and procedures in accordance with organizational policies and clinical standards.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
• Adapt quickly to varying workflows, patient volumes, and acuity levels while maintaining quality and safety standards.
• Support a culture of teamwork, patient-centered care, and continuous improvement.
