Job summary

Advocate Health in Wisconsin is seeking an Environmental Services technician to support the Emergency Room with cleaning and related duties. The role is full time, 40 hours per week, with a 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM schedule and rotating weekends and holidays.

No formal education or prior experience required; training provided. Duties include sanitizing patient areas, restrooms, floors, and equipment, following infection-control guidelines, and reporting safety issues.

Responsibilities

• Cleans patient care areas, surgical areas, restrooms, conference rooms, lobbies, offices, elevators, and stairwells.
• Cleans environmental surfaces including ceilings, vents, walls, doors, and windows; assists in cleaning spills.
• Dusts and damp mops floors in patient areas and corridors.
• Replaces cubicle and window coverings.
• Gathers and disposes recyclables, trash, and medical waste; collects hazardous waste per infection control guidelines.
• Sorts, stocks and delivers linens; prepares soiled linen for transport.
• Cleans and prepares dismissal and transfer units and equipment; distributes supplies.
• Fills and cleans supply dispensers.
• Inventories linens and supplies; orders additional items; keeps closet organized.
• Reports mechanical failures or unsafe conditions to supervisor.
