Job summary

Bath County Community Hospital seeks an EMT to join its Emergency Department team. The role provides clinical, technical, and clerical support to ensure efficient patient flow and safe, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities include triage, obtaining vital signs, performing EKGs, wound care support, specimen collection, and documenting in the electronic health record. EMT certification at the Basic, Advanced, or Paramedic level is required, with EVOC and BLS; ACLS/PALS preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in Emergency Department, EMS, or patient care preferred.
• Current Virginia EMT-Basic, Advanced, or Paramedic certification required; EVOC and BLS required; ACLS/PALS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, obtain vital signs, and assist with triage and intake.
• Document patient information accurately in the electronic health record.
• Assist providers and nurses with clinical procedures within scope of practice.
• Perform patient care tasks such as EKGs, wound care support, and specimen collection.
• Observe and report changes in patient condition to the Registered Nurse.
• Maintain exam rooms, stretchers, and equipment and support patient flow.
