Job summary

Community Health Systems is seeking an EMT I to provide basic emergency medical care and transportation under supervision, in line with state laws, policies, and protocols. You'll support the EMS team and ensure safe, timely pre-hospital care.

Responsibilities include equipment maintenance, patient data documentation in EMR, PPE usage, and collaboration with paramedics, nurses, and physicians during transfers. Attending shifts reliably and complying with policies are expected.

Qualifications

• State-approved EMT training program completed.
• EMT Advanced course preferred.
• Hospital or EMS experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic emergency medical care per scope of practice and policies.
• Assist with patient assessment and vital sign monitoring.
• Administer CPR and wound care as assigned.
• Operate emergency vehicles safely and in compliance with policies.
• Document patient information in the EMR per guidelines.
• Restock supplies and maintain equipment.
• Follow PPE and infection control procedures.
• Escalate concerns through the chain of command.
• Collaborate with paramedics, nurses, and physicians during transfers.
• Maintain regular attendance.
• Comply with all policies.
