Job summary

Community Hospital Corporation invites applications for a Patient Care Assistant in the Emergency Department. Under RN supervision, you will assist with basic patient care, monitor vitals, document observations, and help with patient transport while maintaining a clean, safe environment.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED and BLS within 30 days. EMT certification is preferred. Strong communication in English and basic computer skills are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BCLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• EMT certification preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Basic computer skills and comfort with documentation systems.

Responsibilities

• Provides supportive care to Emergency Department patients under direct supervision.
• Records and reports vital signs; notifies RN of abnormalities.
• Responds to patient pain and communicates with licensed staff promptly.
• Transports and assists with patient movement and comfort.
• Documents care provided and observations in patient records.
• Maintains room readiness and adheres to safety policies.
• Participates in department teamwork and educational activities.
• Attends staff meetings and departmental in-services as scheduled.
