Job summary

Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland's Emergency Department is seeking an Emergency Services Technician to support rapid, compassionate care for patients of all ages. You will assist Licensed Independent Practitioners and nurses, help maintain safety, and contribute to efficient patient flow in a high-velocity environment.

The role requires high school diploma, BLS certification, and preferred experience in emergency care or pediatrics.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Previous patient care experience in an Emergency environment and/or with children strongly preferred.
• Current American Heart Association BLS for Provider certification required.
• CNA, MA or EMT preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Emergency Services Technician plays a vital role as part of the healthcare team, assisting the Licensed Independent Practitioner (L.I.P.), Registered Nurse (R.N.), and Unit Secretary. This position is essential to the team-based approach to patient care and supports the efficient and effective flow of patients through the Emergency Department.
• Provides direct patient care to newborns, children, adults, and geriatric patients under the supervision and delegation of a Registered Nurse.
• Demonstrates effective and professional communication with patients, visitors, EMS personnel, and hospital staff.
• Maintains responsibility and accountability for the cleanliness, maintenance, and safety of unit equipment and supplies.
• Maintains an active, working knowledge of the Credentialing Competencies required for Emergency Services Technicians.
• Consistently demonstrates professionalism in both appearance and conduct.
