Job summary

Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI seeks a registered nurse to provide direct patient care in the emergency/critical care setting during night shifts. You will support clinical leadership and ensure high-quality, cost-effective care.

Under the supervision of the Clinical Manager/Director, you will delegate tasks, participate in teaching and discharge planning, and respond to emergencies to stabilize patients until transfer.

Qualifications

• Current RI RN license.
• BSN preferred.
• Minimum three years of adult ICU experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care.
• Leads and supervises nursing activities by delegating to ancillary staff.
• Evaluates effectiveness of patient care and identifies improvement opportunities.
• Collaborates with healthcare team, patient, family and community services for discharge planning.
• Provides teaching based on patient and family needs.
• Participates in quality improvement and research activities.
• Maintains credentialing standards and mandatory education.
• Serves as preceptor to new graduates and less experienced staff.
• Responds to emergencies (Code Blue, Rapid Response, Code Stroke) as directed by Nursing Leadership.
• Provides critical care nursing support to delegated areas.
