University Hospital in Newark, NJ seeks an Emergency Department Technician to provide direct patient care under supervision of a Staff Nurse. You will support the nursing team with simple procedures and help maintain order and safety in a fast-paced ED.

Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED, English proficiency, and training in Phlebotomy or Medical Assisting; BLS/CPR is required. EKG is preferred; orientation training will be provided as needed.

Formación

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• English reading/writing/speaking required to perform duties.
• Phlebotomy Technician Program or Medical Assistant Program required.
• EKG certification preferred; training provided if not possessed at UH.
• 1 year of acute care experience preferred; BLS/ CPR required.
• Proficient in taking temperatures, pulses, and blood pressures; works well in a fast-paced team.

Responsabilidades

• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Staff Nurse.
• Perform simple nursing procedures as directed.
• Support professional staff in evaluation and treatment of patients.
• Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of the unit.
• Demonstrate competency across all ages from neonatal to end of life.
