Job summary

HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL is seeking an Emergency Technician to join the ED nursing support team.

The role is full-time with day shifts (7am–7pm) and involves assisting RNs and the emergency team in delivering high-quality patient care with a calm, confident presence. Minimum education includes a high school diploma or equivalent; CNA/LPN/EMT experience is preferred along with BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or related vocational training required.
• Certified Nursing Assistant, LPN or Emergency Medical Technician experience preferred.
• 1 year of healthcare experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) must be current and in good standing.
• Eligible to work as a Nursing Assistant in hospital or home health setting; LPN licensure or EMT certification preferred.

• Assist ED team to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
• Provide a calming, confident presence to patients and families.
• Support nursing staff with patient assist, documentation and routine tasks.
