Job summary

The Christ Hospital in Kentucky is seeking an Emergency Department Technician (EDT) to support emergency care under RN supervision. You will perform clinical tasks, monitor vitals, assist with procedures, and help with patient comfort and safety in a fast-paced ED environment.

Qualified candidates have a High School diploma or GED, 3+ years of direct patient care, and hold BLS and AVADE certifications. Strong teamwork, documentation, and infection control practices are essential.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED; 3+ years direct patient care in hospital/acute care or nursing student with rotation.
• BLS certification required before patient contact; Violence Prevention (AVADE) certification.
• Strong communication, confidentiality and teamwork required; ability to document and adapt to clinical settings.

Responsibilities

• Performs clinical care tasks under RN supervision and Ohio Board of Nursing guidelines.
• Monitors vitals, collects specimens, administers basic treatments as delegated.
• Provides comfort, hygiene, nutrition assistance, mobility support and safety oversight.
• Assists with procedures, post-mortem care, and emergency responses under supervision.
• Maintains CPI training, participates in staff meetings and competency development.
