Job summary

Lexington Health is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to provide for the personal needs of patients in the ED and support order entry, specimen handling, and room maintenance. The role supports RN staff and physicians, with opportunity to contribute to critical patient care tasks in a high‑volume environment.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma, 1 year of acute care patient care experience, Basic Life Support and CPI training within 90 days, and basic computer skills

Qualifications

• Minimum education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 1 year of patient care experience in an acute care setting.
• Substitutable education/experience includes CNA, EMT, or Fundamentals of Nursing course.
• Required certifications: Basic Life Support and CPI Training within 90 days of hire.
• Training: Basic computer skills; knowledge of medical terminology; ability to use computer systems for patient care (order entry, charting).

Responsibilities

• Assist nurses and physicians with treatments and examinations.
• Prepare rooms and equipment for patients.
• Maintain clean/organized rooms and supply carts; document care accurately.
• Monitor patient conditions and update RN on changes.
• Ensure safe and efficient patient flow and bed management.
• Perform routine clerical tasks and respond to calls as needed.
