Job summary

Texas Health Resources seeks an Admissions Specialist for the Admitting ER. You will warmly welcome patients, collect demographics, verify coverage, and secure pre-certifications to maximize reimbursement.

You will explain financial expectations and gather required consents, all while maintaining high reliability and compassionate service. You will navigate MSPQ, IMM, ABN processes and support a team-driven, high-stress environment with attention to accuracy and empathy for patients and families

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of customer service experience required.
• 2 years of professional office/healthcare experience preferred.
• CHHA certification preferred upon hire.
• CPI training within 60 days of hire.
• Ability to assess requests using electronic/paper resources and respond to inquiries.
• Excellent data entry, typing, and computer navigation with attention to detail.
• Proficient in Epic, Microsoft Office and assorted software.
• Strong listening, interpersonal and telephone etiquette.
• Ability to stay professional under stress and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and families on arrival, setting a calm tone.
• Gather demographic information to ensure EHR integrity.
• Identify network coverage and obtain/validate benefits and pre-certifications.
• Educate patients on regulatory documents and obtain signatures.
• Explain financial obligations and prepare estimates for co-pays and balances.
• Ensure MSPQ, IMM, ABN/Non-Coverage requirements are completed.
• Maintain customer service and productivity guidelines.
