Job summary

Thrivent invites motivated undergraduates to join our Equity Research Analyst Intern program in Minneapolis. The 12-week internship offers hands-on experience supporting the investment research process alongside seasoned portfolio managers, traders, and senior analysts.

You will research companies and industries, organize financial data, follow market news, and assist in modeling and drafting research materials.

Qualifications

Demonstrated coursework in asset management and/or securities analysis or 1 summer of relevant investment experience
Bachelor's degree with strong academic record in finance, business, economics, engineering, data science or related field
General understanding of investment research analyst work
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
High curiosity and willingness to learn about investment industry
Strong Excel and MS Office skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
Commitment to high ethical standards and confidentiality
Preferred: CFA designation or Master’s degree in related field
Experience with equity research or financial services internship

Responsibilities

Research and support investment decision processes
Assist senior analysts with company and industry research using standard templates
Collect and organize financial statements, SEC filings, earnings, KPIs
Monitor daily news, earnings releases and market developments
Build and maintain financial models and valuation tools under guidance
Keep databases and valuation metrics current for performance tracking
Prepare draft reports and presentations from analyst input
Support earnings previews and sector updates for internal discussions
Assist in preparing materials for client presentations
Participate in meetings, earnings calls and conferences to capture information
