Job summary

Thrivent Financial in Minneapolis is offering a summer internship for a Fixed Income Research Intern who will support research and analysis across investment grade and high yield. Daily interaction with portfolio managers and senior analysts.

Candidates should be in an early graduate program, have coursework in accounting/finance, and strong communication and math skills; familiarity with Excel, Aladdin or Bloomberg is a plus. The role runs May through August and onsite in Minneapolis.

Qualifications

• Completed first year of graduate program with a strong academic performance.
• Working knowledge of accounting, finance, corporate strategy, real estate and financial statistics.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, decision-making and mathematical skills.
• Ability to take direction from multiple leaders as well as work independently.
• Microsoft Office including Excel proficiency.
• Experience with Aladdin and/or Bloomberg is a plus.
• Available to work full-time during May–August.

Responsibilities

• Provide research support for analyzing and underwriting bond investments.
• Monitor credit risk and performance of existing holdings.
• Perform independent research on industries and sectors within fixed income.
• Participate in all aspects of the investment process with issuers and management.
